Well, so much for poker. Looks like I’ll be spending a LOT more times watching and following the Maple Leafs these next few months.
Yesterday, new-ish General Manager Brian Burke finally showed some muscle and made a groundbreaking trade. Leafs lose Matt Stajan (F), Niklas Hagman (F), Jason Blake (F), Ian White (D) and Jamal Myers (F), and acquire Jean-Sébastien Giguère (G), Fredrik Sjöström (F), and the piece du résistance, Dion Phaneuf. Hopefully he’ll fill the seemingly eons-old hole we’ve had in our defence, and boost our shoddy netminding.
Some tasty Dion bits: (yes, I realize that sounds very gay, but I don’t care – I have a man-crush on him)
Can you tell I’m excited?
Go Pens!!!
Nice blog.
Take care of Giggy over there, we’ll miss him here in Anaheim. Great guy and a great goalie. When his dad passed away and then his goalie coach (who is in Toronto now) left, he lost his mojo. I am sure the change will be good and you’ll have one solid G-man in net.
