I was born in Toronto to a lower-middle class family. After coasting through school and realizing it’s depressing concept of preparing one for more schooling and ultimately an even more depressing career, I wasn’t exactly happy.
After some friends and I played several home games and I saw how fun and profitable the game could be, I started searching online shortly after getting my first computer, and discovered freerolls. Several times I cashed for some minute amount, built up my mini-stack and saw it evaporate as I tried to move it to STTs and cash games. That’s about when I decided to start studying the game by signing up to forums like CardsChat.com, and buying strategy books – the first of my collection being SuperSystem 2 (and a horrible first choice, I might add).
I cashed in another freeroll at Titan poker for $11 and grinded the micros. While working for a friend’s landscaping company, I played about every day after my ‘normal’ job. Eventually I moved from the micros to the $16 STTs, but decided the variance was too much. In December of 2007, I decided to get a subscription to StoxPoker.com and take a serious shot at ring games. I started at 25nl FR, and eventually moved from FR to 6max while I was playing 100nl. Since then, I’ve had many bumps in the road, mostly revolving around tilt, motivation, and managing my time and money well, and fully expect many more in the future. I’ve since been playing professionally, have become a coach for StoxPoker and will be offering 1-on-1 coaching for micro-small stakes players soon. I appreciate you visiting my site and if you want to get a hold of me, please see the contact page above.
